Pricing method
I thought I'd share how I set my prices. Basically, I'm watching to see what they are selling for on Stubhub, which is the best source for tickets.
On Stubhub, there are 3 numbers to be aware of:
Selling price: this is the price the seller sets as their selling price for each ticket.
Price as seen on the app: Stubhub marks up the selling price as it appears on the website and in their app. They now include all their fees, so when you see a price, it's the "out the door" price and includes all their fees. This is the amount you would pay as a buyer on Stubhub.
Amount seller receives: this is the amount they pay to the seller. It's usually about 85% of the selling price, and about 65% of what the customer actually pays. They charge a fee to the seller and the buyer, making money on both ends of the transaction.
For example, if the seller lists their tickets at a "Selling price" of $85, then on the app, a buyer would see those tickets selling for $100 each. And when a buyer pays $100 per ticket, the seller would receive approximately $65 each.
When you buy directly from me, we both save money. Instead of paying Stubhub $100 each for those tickets in the example, you would pay me about $60 to $65.
I check prices periodically for seats in my Section 111 behind home plate. Stubhub gives me some guidelines for the best price, based on what other tickets are currently listed at. This is very helpful as their algorithm does all the work for me.
Once I've set my "Selling price" on Stubhub, I then look at how much I will receive if the tickets sell. Again, that amount is about 15% lower than my "Selling price".
Then I set my direct-to-you prices very close to, or maybe even a couple dollars cheaper than, the amount I would receive if the tickets sold on Stubhub. I prefer to sell them directly: you get great seats much cheaper than you would if you paid Stubhub's exorbitant markups. I get approximately the same amount of money per ticket. And you and I can establish a relationship. If you want to attend more games this year, or next year, all you have to do is check my website or send me a text message: 623-396-5984
Feel free to make an offer if you there's a game you want to attend, but the prices don't seem in line with what's on Stubhub. I may not have looked and updated recently. I'll double check the going price and get back to you.
